NEW ELECTIONS PROJECT OF COUNCIL OF EUROPE IN GEORGIA
Today, on July 12, Auditor General of the State Audit Office Lasha Tordia attended official presentation of Council of Europe’s new program supporting 2016 parliamentary, 2017 local self-governmental and 2018 presidential elections’.
Main goals of the project are: provide assistance to the elections’ commission, cooperate with the State Audit Office for ensuring transparency of funding of pre-election campaign and to professionally train local observers.
Head of the Council of Europe’s Office in Georgia, Cristian Urse opened the event.
After the presentation of the project, meeting of the steering committee, with the participation of the representatives of the State Audit Office took place. The steering committee was set up with the aim of the strategic management of the project. Head of the Central Election Commission Tamar Zhvania also attended the meeting.
